Laura Lothian About Pic Blue

WHY LAURA?

You ever meet someone and just know that person gets things done?

Their energy is palpable; they brim with confidence because they've achieved success through their own efforts. They're happy because life is good - not by chance but by deliberate choices. They love problem solving, not theoretically but in real life. You know if you hire them, they will deliver the goods - because they promised and because their self-regard demands it. Failure is simply not acceptable. They’re just the obvious choice.

That is Laura Lothian.

Laura Lothian gets things done. As a twice-elected councilmember, she has turned campaign promises into visible results for La Mesa — and as mayor, she'll bring that same energy and focus to City Hall.

Her record speaks for itself. Laura created the Community Cleanup Coordinator, a full-time position dedicated to removing litter from La Mesa's public spaces — the before-and-after difference is remarkable. Her Parking T program expanded scarce parking citywide. When an onerous regulation threatened to kill downtown sidewalk dining, Laura sounded the alarm and kept La Mesa's outdoor dining scene thriving. Her advocacy helped stop a battery storage facility from being built in a residential neighborhood. She replaced the city's years-long wait for $20,000 concrete speed bumps with temporary versions delivered in months, saving taxpayers time and money. And she brought Christmas back to Holiday in the Village, sponsoring an 80-foot tree crowned with a bright blue star honoring fallen LMPD Officer Lauren Craven.

Proven. Practical. Purposeful.

Please consider supporting her campaign with your time, talent, or treasure.

That same drive defines her professional life: Laura has sold more homes than anyone in La Mesa's 114-year history, making her one of the most recognized names in local real estate — and a familiar, friendly face to neighbors across our nine square miles.

Family get-togethers, hanging out with her significant other, Englishman Simon, her three adult kids - Mack, Lainey & Milly - and their beautiful children - Georgia, Eddy V, Emmy & Penny - is pure happiness for Laura.

Her pastime activities include babysitting her grandkids, avid reading, pickleball and always trying out new restaurants - especially in La Mesa!

La Mesa is Laura’s home, her real estate domain, where she votes on city business, buys groceries, purchases hardware, acquires insurance, checks out books at the library, dines out, exercises, socializes with friends, meets clients, rides her bike, gets her hair and nails done, fixes her shoes, plays pickleball and walks the family dog - she lives and breathes La Mesa.

Why Laura?

That's why.
